Parker Concludes Season at NCAA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas. - East Carolina junior Diane Parker wrapped up her 2003-04 swimming season Friday morning at the NCAA Division I Swimming Championships hosted by Texas A&M. Parker missed making the finals in the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly.
Parker placed 32nd (1:11.02) in the breaststroke and 35th (1:01.66) in the butterfly. She competed in the 200 Individual Medley Thursday afternoon and finished 60th (2:18.13). All times were registered on a short-meter course.
Parker was the first swimmer since Meredith Bridgers to make it to the NCAA Championships. Bridgers advanced to the championships in 1990 and 1991.
Parker's season was highlighted by her second straight Conference USA Swimmer of the Year award as well as her first trip to the NCAA Championship.
