
Lady Pirate Tennis Falls to High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point's women's tennis team returned from a 17-day layoff to edge in-state rival East Carolina, 4-3, Saturday at the Millis Center Tennis Complex.
The Panthers (5-4, 1-0 Big South) took the doubles point and got singles victories from Suzie King, Jenny Rabanal and Sheena Bharti to win their fourth match in five tries.
East Carolina saw its three-match win streak snapped. The Pirates fall to 8-7 on the year.
King and Ann-Charlott Talus bested Raluca Baicu and Kirstin Buchanan by a 9-8 count, and Bharti and Suzanne Celensu defeated Sara Boseman and Ashley Perkinson, 8-2, to give HPU the all-important doubles point. King won her singles match in straight sets and Rabanal won in straight sets before Bharti clinched the match for the Panthers with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Perkinson.
