
Pirate Tennis Teams Sweep Mount Olive

The ECU men ran its record to 12-4 overall by winning two of three doubles matches and five of six singles flights.
The Pirates took the doubles point behind wins from Charl Meyer and Darren Mansell at flight one (8-6) and J.R. Gudger and Paulo Baumer at flight two (9-8). ECU then clinched the matched with single wins by Meyer, Baumer, Mansell, Felipe Fonseca and Mark Gellard.
The Lady Pirates evened their overall record at 9-9. Like the men, they also took two of three doubles matches with wins by Raluca Baicu and Kristin Buchanan at flight one (8-3) and Gillie Bailey and Cristina Meilicke at flight two (8-0).
Victorious in singles action were Bailey, Meilicke, Buchanan and Sara Boseman at flight two through five, respectively.
The women's team returns to competition Saturday morning at North Carolina A&T, while the men's team travels to UNC Wilmington on Wednesday, April 7.
