Leveque Finishes Fourth At Bradford Creek Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Freshman Ryan Leveque recorded a third round three-under par 69 to claim fourth place at the ninth annual Bradford Creek Intercollegiate golf tournament. The tournament was being held at the par-72, 7,151-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course in Greenville, N.C.
Leveque was one of four golfers to record two rounds of 69 or better after posting a first round 67. For the first time in the history of the Bradford Creek Intercollegiate, there were co-champions crowned in the individual portion of the tournament. Campbell's Braxton Wynns (70-68-67) and UNC Greensboro's Andy Bare (71-66-68) posted 54-hole totals of 205.
Marc-Andre Roy, the second round leader from UNC Wilmington, posted a third round score of 71 finishing in third one stroke behind the leaders, 206. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Loucks of Elon and Alvaro Velasco of Coastal Carolina with a 54-hole total of 212.
Fellow Pirate Jason Harris finished tied for 29th with a three-round total of 220 (71-76-73).
In the team portion of the tournament, Campbell came away with the tournament title as they posted a 54-hole 852 (286-280-286) finishing six strokes ahead of three-time defending champion UNC Wilmington (858). Georgetown University and Coastal Carolina finished in a tie for third as they both recorded a final tournament score of 870, while ECU (286-292-294=872) finished fifth.
The Pirates (62-78-5) were one of 21 schools participating in this year's event along with: American University, Appalachian State, Army, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, DePaul, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, Univ. of Long Island, Marquette, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Old Dominion, Rhode Island, Richmond, Seton Hall, Tennessee State, and Virginia Commonwealth.
The Pirates will be back in action on April 19-21 when they travel to Dade City, Florida for the Conference USA Tournament.
