Baumer Captures UNCW Invitational Title

Wilmington, N.C. ?? East Carolina senior Paulo Baumer defeated David Mellis of Coastal Carolina in straight sets (6-1, 6-2) to win the teal bracket of the 2004 Landfall/UNCW Tennis Invitational on Sunday.
Baumer advanced to the championship match with a striaght sets victory over NC State's Dennis Myers in the semifinals, after opening with a straight sets victory over UNCW's Grant Holland.
