
Swimmers Post Some Of The Nation's Fastest Times

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- CollegeSwimming.com recently released its complete list of the top 100 athletes in each event, which included numerous East Carolina swimmers.
Freshman Christoph Lubenau ranks the highest among any ECU swimmer in any category, posting the 10th best time nationally in the 100-yard butterfly. With his performance at the Nike Cup, Lubenau set a new ECU varsity record in the event with a time of 48.81.
Freshman Allison Miller, sophomore Greg Neville and junior Kate Gordon also ranked among the nation's top 100 in multiple events. ECU also had four of its relay teams on the list.
A record sixteen ECU swimmers, including 10 ladies, qualified for the U.S. Open which begins Thursday, December 1 at Auburn University. It is an international competition which some of the world's finest swimmers compete each year.
