Greenville, N.C. - East Carolina has teamed up with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots Program to help make Christmas wishes for many deserving eastern North Carolina children come true.
Fans that bring a new, unwrapped toy to the ECU vs. Western Carolina men's basketball game on Saturday, December 10 will receive a free ticket for the game. Toys should be presented at the Minges Coliseum ticket window. One ticket may be redeemed per toy presented. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last year, the program helped gather thousands of toys that were distributed to deserving children in counties throughout eastern North Carolina.
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
Toys for Tots help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas by playing an active role in their development. For three months each year the Toys for Tots campaign unites members of local communities for a common cause by collecting and distributing toys to help make better communities.
