
ECU Softball To Host Holiday Inn Express Pirate Classic

Eight teams will participate in this years tournament: Army, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Fordham, Ohio, Radford, Towson, and Villanova.
The Lady Pirates (6-0) come into the classic off a championship run at the Georgia State Invitational, where they defeated Tennesse Tech, Charleston Southern and Georgia State twice. Mandi Nichols and Erin St. Ledger are leading the way for the Pirates offensively. Nichols is batting .467 with a .500 on base percentage, while St. Ledger is batting .444 with a .545 on base percentage.
Top pitcher for the Lady Pirates is Keli Harrell who won C-USA Softball Player-of-the-Week (Feb. 14) after pitching a complete game only allowing one hit, striking out 15 and walking none in seven innings. Harrell also came in to close out the first game against Georgia State giving up no hits while striking out 4 and walking none in 2 1/3 innings.
