
Swimming, Diving Complete Day Two Of C-USA Championship

The 400 medley relay team of Adrienne Williams, Elizabeth-Claire Moore, Diane Parker, and Kate Gordon set a new varsity record posting a time of 3:48.81, which was good enough for second place.
In other women's action, Williams broke the ECU record in the 50 freestyle (23.64) and finished in fourth place. Freshman Megan Pulaski took seventh place in the 500 freestyle (5:01.00). Freshman diver Christie Icenhower finished fifth in the three-meter diving event scoring 397.20.
On the men's side, senior Casey Cronin finished third in the 200 IM (1:50.64). Justin Brinkley placed ninth in the 50 freestyle (20.97). The 400 medley relay team of Josh Barthlow, Cronin, Matt Donohue, and Gavin Stark finished in fourth place netting a time of 3:23.54. Barthlow also set a new ECU record during his butterfly leg of the 400 medley relay posting a time of 49.79.
ECU continues competition Friday with preliminary rounds being held in the morning. The top swimmers from the morning session will advance to the finals in the evening session.
