AU won its fifth consecutive match to improve to 6-1 overall, while the Pirates fell to 7-10 on the year.
ECU senior Paulo Baumer and Felipe Fonseca claimed victory in singles action at flight one and two. Baumer defeated Juancarlo Vazquez at flight one, 6-3, 6-2, and Fonseca downed Nicolas Frayssinoux at flight two, 7-6 (3), 6-1.
The Pirates will look to regroup Friday as they host Gardner-Webb beginning at 2 p.m.
