"Brian is a standout in the classroom as well as on the courts," stated Heinchon. "He is the kind of young man that will be a great leader for our program in the years to come and Aleksey's desire to excel both academically and athletically will no doubt raise our level. He is coming to us from one of the strongest tennis areas in the world right now."
Walters ranks among the top 10 players in the state of Georgia and the top 30 players in the Southeast. Kochetov ranked among his country's top 20 players in 2003 and was a finalist in the 2004 Russian National Championships.
"I want to be part of a successful tennis program and I believe ECU is the best fit for me and what I want to accomplish during my tennis career," said Walters. "The entire tennis program and athletic department seem to be moving in the right direction and I want to be a part of a program that I know will be successful."
"I feel that the ECU tennis program is on the rise and I'm excited that I'm going to be a part of it," stated Kochetov.
