GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Darrell Jenkins and Jeremy Ingram scored 19 points apiece to lead East Carolina to a 72-64 victory over UNC Greensboro on Saturday, ending a 12-game road losing streak.
Jenkins had eight rebounds while Courtney Captain added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Pirates, who shot about 42 percent from the field and held the Spartans to 35 percent shooting.
UNC Greensboro (0-4) had four players score in double digits, led by Kyle Hines and Dwyane Johnson with 13 points each. Ricky Hickman and Mikko Koivisto each added 12 points.
After spotting the UNCG scored the game's first 10 points, ECU (2-1) went on a 17-6 spurt, courtesy of nine points from Ingram, to claim its first lead of the game 17-16 nearly nine minutes into the contest.
Ingram scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in eight minutes of action during the first half.
The two teams exchanged the lead four times over the final 11 minutes of the half before Kendall Toney tossed in a 3-pointer from the corner as the shot clock expired with 14 seconds remaining on the game clock to give the Spartans a 34-33 lead at halftime.
As second half play began, the Spartans slowly increased their lead and to nine, 47-38, with 14:24 showing on the clock.

Jenkins then scored ECU's next five points, including a pair of free throws to give the Pirates a 54-53 lead with 6:20 to play, their first lead since the final minute of the first half.
On the Spartans' ensuing possession, Fields blocked Johnson's jumper and raced backed down court to receive an alley-oop feed from Jenkins. Fields finished the game with five blocks.
After UNCG tied the game at 60-60, Jenkins converted a rare four-point play as he calmly sank a free throw after banking in a 3 from the top of the key for a 64-60 lead with 2:14 remaining.
The Spartans got one point on their next possession before ECU began its march to the foul line, where it converted 8-of-9 free throws in the final two minutes.
