TULSA, Okla. --- Jessica Barr's two-out double capped a Tulsa four-run seventh inning giving TU a walk-off victory over visiting East Carolina, 7-6, in the final game of a three-game Conference USA series Sunday.
ECU (29-19, 3-9) broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning with its own four-run frame. Sophomore Beth Nolan broke the tie with a lead off home run, her second of the season, giving the Pirates a 2-1 lead.
The Pirates added another run thanks to a two-out fielding error by second baseman Angela Osbon. Vanessa Moreno then pushed across two more runs with a two-run home run to stake the Pirates to a 5-1 lead.
Sara Dyer hit a two-run home run in the TU half of the sixth to pull the Golden Hurricane (29-13, 11-4) within a two runs.
ECU got one of those runs back in the seventh, taking advantage of another two-out error by Osbon with Paige Baggett scoring from first base.
After collecting seven hits through the first six innings, the Golden Hurricane touched pitcher Keli Harrell (17-12) for five hits in its final at-bat.
Despite facing a bases loaded situation with one run already across, ECU needed just one out to claim its first C-USA series win of the year. However, TU was unwilling to cooperate.
Keli McGlasson's singled through the right side of the infield plating two runs to tie the score and bring Barr to the plate.
McGlasson finished the day 3-of-4 with two RBIs, while Barr was one of three Tulsa players to record two hits.
The Pirates tallied nine hits in the loss, including two each by Baggett and Ashley Quick.
TU used a pair of pitchers with Katie Lee (5-2) earning the victory in relief.
ECU will return to action Wednesday, April 12, as it travels to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina in its final non-conference game of the season. The game is scheduled for a 5 o'clock start.
