
Swimming & Diving Completes Fall Recruiting Season

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina University swimming & diving program has received seven commitments for the 2008-09 Pirate head coach Rick Kobe announced Monday. Kelsey Brosi, Michelle Gadowry, Kali Gaskill, Caitlin Marsilli, Ashley Mullen and Brittany Radcliff will join the women's team for the 2008-09 season, while Jonathan Bailey will join the men's team.
Brosi is a native of Columbia, Md., and specializes in the freestyle and backstroke events. She recently earned a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle at the Eastern Regionals of the Speedo Championship Series and placed among the top five in four other events. She swims for the Columbia Clippers where she holds six individual team records and has qualified for junior nationals in multiple events.
Gadowry hails from Punta Gorda, Fla. where she has twice been named Charlotte County Swimmer-of-the-Year and qualified for the state championships each of the last three seasons. A junior national qualifier in the 500-yard freestyle, she also was also a national qualifier in the 800-yard freestyle. She has been voted Charlotte High Most Valuable Player each of the past three seasons.
Gaskill is a two-time junior national qualifier from Woodbridge, Va., where she swims for the Prince William Swim Club. She has been selected a Scholastic All-American each of the past two years, while earning all-area and all-metro team honors. A Speedo Sectional finalist, Gaskill was a state championship finalist in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events.
Marsilli is a two-time All-America and Southern Regional Speedo champion. As a member of the Fish Swim Club in Falls Church, Va., she is two-time Washington metro prep school champion and National Catholic High School swimming champion.
Mullen is breaststroke and IM swimmer from Pasadena, Md. As a member of the Severna Park YMCA she was a national qualifier in both long course and short course events.
Radcliff is junior national qualifier and four-time Maryland All-Star team swimmer from Columbia, Md., where she swims for Retrievers Aquatics. She holds three Maryland 17-18 age group records (200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM) and is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Bailey swims for NOVA Aquatics in Richmond, Va. and is a multi-event junior national qualifier. A top-eight multi-event finalist at the state championships, he took home first place honors in 1500 freestyle. He also holds the senior state championship record in the 800 freestyle event.
