GREENVILLE, S.C. - The second round of the 39th annual Furman Intercollegiate was halted by darkness Saturday evening after a two-hour weather delay earlier in the day suspended play at the par 72, 6,800-yard Furman University Golf Course.
Teams which were still on the course when play was suspended at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday will return to the course for the completion of round two at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday. Final round play will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Lightning and heavy rains forced play to be suspended for more than two hours on Saturday morning. Teams resumed play in wet conditions shortly after 12:45 p.m., but nine teams were yet to complete their rounds by darkness. Chattanooga followed a first round 287 with a 290 on Saturday to hold the lead at the end of the day. Virginia Tech fired an even-par 288 in the morning wave led by Nick McDonald's four-under-par 68.
Results from the partially completed second round are available at www.golfstat.com.
