Pirates Move Into Sixth At River Landing

WALLACE, N.C. --- East Carolina carded a team second round total of 298 to move into sixth place Saturday at the River Landing Intercollegiate being held at the par 72, 7,112-yard River Landing Golf Course.
NC State fired a second round total of two-under-par 286 to move into a first place tie with Duke. Both the Wolfpack (288-286) and Blue Devils (284-290) have compiled a 36-hole team total of two-under-par 574. Wake Forest is in third place at five-over-par (287-294=581), followed by Memphis at six-over (292-290=582) and Florida State at seven-over (284-299=583).
The Pirates have amassed a two-day total of 17-over-par (294-298=592).
Wake Forest's Webb Simpson fired an even-par 72 Saturday to move into first place with a 36-hole score of five-under-par (67-72=139), leading Kent Copeland (71-69=140) of NC State and Michael Schachner (68-72=140) of Duke by one stroke entering Sunday's final round.
Pirate juniors Markus Leandersson (72-75=147) and Andre Thorsen (73-74=147) are each three-over-par and tied for 26th. Freshman Warren Straub is five-over-par (76-73=149) and in 33rd place. Senior Anthony Reale (73-77=150) is one stroke back of his first-year teammate.
Final round play is scheduled to commence Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
