Watkins Named Golfer-Of-The-Week

IRVING, Texas --- East Carolina sophomore David Watkins has been named Conference USA Golfer-of-the-Week for the second time this season announced league officials Wednesday. Watkins carded a 138 at the Hummingbird Invitational and took third-place honors, while propelling the Pirates to a share of second place.
Watkins received the accolade two weeks ago after earning individual medalist honors at the Savannah Mizuno Invitational. He carded a career-best total of 11-under to earn the first individual victory of his career.
The Hamlet, N.C. native has recorded two top three finishes this year and three top 20 finishes in four tournaments played this season. He has shot under par in each of his last five rounds played.
