GREENVILLE, N.C. - After posting a 3-2 week which included a midweek sweep of UNC Asheville and win over UCLA, the East Carolina baseball team garnered a No. 23 ranking in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll Monday afternoon.
The Pirates (11-4), who are ranked for the fifth consecutive week for the first time since the 2007 season, dropped three spots to No. 23 and joins Rice as the only Conference USA schools represented in this week's NCBWA poll.
The Pirates will be back on the diamond Tuesday, Mar. 16 when they play host to Richmond in a game that was scheduled Monday afternoon to compensate for the College of Charleston contest that was cancelled due to inclement weather. ECU will also welcome in Norfolk State (Mar. 18) and will open league play against UCF (Mar. 20) at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium.
