GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina University officials announced Monday afternoon that the midweek baseball game between No. 23 ECU and Old Dominion, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 3, has been pushed back to Wednesday afternoon due to potential inclement weather and below freezing temperatures in the area. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Pirates (5-1) are coming off a 2-1 week where they picked up their first win over a nationally-ranked team in 2009, defeating No. 11 Oklahoma State 14-7. ECU hosted the Sixth Annual LeClair Classic this past weekend posting a 1-1 record in the rain-shorten event collecting a win over St. John's, 9-7 before falling to Oklahoma State, 7-6.
After the midweek matchup with the Monarchs, the Pirates will hit the road for the first time when they travel to Statesboro, Ga. to participate in the Holiday Inn Eagle Invitational. The three-day event will pit ECU again LeMoyne, Indiana and host institution Georgia Southern.
