GREENVILLE, N.C. - On the heels of a perfect 5-0 week, which included a Conference USA series opening sweep of UCF, the East Carolina baseball team found themselves ranked in three national polls this week. It marks the first time since the 2004 season the Pirates have spent at least six consecutive weeks in the national polls.
The Pirates (16-4, 3-0 C-USA) were tabbed No. 19 by the National Baseball Collegiate Writers Association (NCBWA), No.22 by Baseball America and No. 23 by the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
ECU's appearance in this week's Baseball America poll is the first since garnering a No. 24 ranking on April 14, 2008.
The Pirates will back on the diamond Tuesday, Mar. 24 when they travel to Buies Creek for a midweek game against Campbell with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch scheduled. ECU will then host in-state rival UNC Wilmington on Mar. 25 (6 p.m.) before hitting the road again for a C-USA weekend series against Marshall.
