Leandersson Named Golfer-of-the-Week

IRVING, Texas - Senior Markus Leandersson of East Carolina is the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance at the 36-hole Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C. Leandersson finished tied for fifth-place in the field of 114 golfers and led the Pirates to its first team championship of the year. The Hvalstad, Norway native recorded a two-round score of 147 in his first tournament of the spring.

Leandersson opened play with a 75 before returning on day two to record an even-par 72. This is his first career-weekly honor.

Leandersson and his ECU teammates will return to the links Friday when they host the Ironwood Pirate Intercollegiate at Ironwood Country Club.
