
Thorsen And Colley Earn All-Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas --- East Carolina senior Andre Thorsen and freshman Jake Colley have each been selected to an All-Conference USA squad as voted upon by the league's 11 head coaches.
Thorsen was named second-team all-conference, while Colley earned all-freshman team honors.
Thorsen was voted second-team All-Conference USA for the second time in his career, also receiving the accolades as a sophomore in 2007. As a senior, Thorsen recorded five top 20 finishes in nine tournaments, including three inside the top 10.
Watkins is the fourth Pirate to earn all-freshman team honors, joining teammates Tripp Brizendine and Warren Straub among the former recipients. Colley participated in 10 events this season, including all seven spring tournaments. He recorded his best 54-hole score of the year at the Rio Pinar Invitational, which included a final round tally of three-under 69.
UCF freshman Blayne Barber was named both the C-USA Golfer-of-the-Year and Freshman-of-the-Year, while UCF junior Simon Ward was voted Newcomer-of-the-Year and Knight head coach Nick Clinard was named the league's Coach-of-the-Year.
Joining Barber and Ward on the All-Conference USA First Team are SMU's Kelly Kraft, Nicolas Geyger of Tulsa and UAB's Zach Sucher.
Freshman James Kwon of SMU and UCF's Brad Schneider are joined by seniors Thorsen, Jordan Payne of Memphis, Tulsa's Rob Laird, UCF's David Johnson and UTEP's Roger Sloan on the second-team.
Barber, Kwon and Schneider were also named to the all-freshman team with Tulsa's Arie Fauzi and Colley.
