Pirates Compete At ITA Carolinas Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Sophomore Massimo Mannino advanced to the round of 64 before bowing out at the ITA-USTA 2010 Carolinas Regional this past weekend.
Mannino defeated Presbyterian's Andrew Brigham in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) in the opening round before losing to Wake Forest's Danny Kreyman (3-6, 1-6). Mannino has compiled a 5-2 record this fall.
ECU sophomore John Schmitt was eliminated the first round by Jack Waissen of North Carolina Central (7-5, 4-6, 2-6) and then lost to The Citadel's David Orees in straight sets (3-6, 1-6).
The Pirates will conclude their fall season this weekend at the UNCW Invitational.
