GREENVILLE, N.C. - Despite losing two-of-three games in the weekend season opener against then No. 2 Virginia, the East Carolina baseball team remained ranked in five national polls Monday afternoon.
The Pirates (1-2) were tabbed No. 13 by Rivals.com, No. 21 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and No. 22 by Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and Ping!Baseball.
This week's rankings marks the 21st consecutive week, dating back to the start of the 2009 season, that the Pirates have been ranked in at least one national poll.
ECU will hit the field Tuesday, Feb. 23 when they play host to former Colonial Athletic Association foe Old Dominion at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium with a first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. (EST).
