GREENVILLE, N.C. - Despite dropping its opening Conference USA series to Tulane over the weekend, the East Carolina baseball team enters this weeks action ranked No. 27 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
The Pirates (18-11, 1-2) dropped four spots in the NCBWA poll and are receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll, while dropping completely out of Ping!Baseball and Rivals.com.
This week's ranking extends the Pirates streak to 27-straight weeks ranked in at least one national poll dating back to the start of the 2009 season.
ECU will be back in action on Friday, Apr. 9 when they travel to Memphis for a three-game Conference USA series at FedEx Park. First pitch for Friday's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
