Men's Tennis Host Fall Shootout At River Birch

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's tennis team will host the 2010 ECU Fall Shootout this weekend (Sept. 24-26) at the River Birch Tennis Center. The Pirates will host teams from College of Charleston, James Madison and Richmond with matches beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and concluding Sunday morning.
"We are very excited to be hosting the ECU Shootout at River Birch," Pirate head coach Shawn Heinchon said. "We are very grateful to the city of Greenville for the use of this outstanding tennis facility over the weekend.
"The guys are really looking forward to competing against this field," Heinchon added. "Some of them didn't play as well as they would've liked to last weekend in Wilmington and are eager to get back on the court."
Each team will compete in both singles and doubles this weekend. All matches will be eight-game pro sets for doubles and a super- tiebreaker for the third set in singles matches.
