ECU Men's Golf In Fifth At Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's golf team is in fifth-place after two rounds of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate being played at the par 71, 7,358-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The Pirates trail tournament leader Memphis by six shots going into tomorrow's final round. ECU shot rounds of 295 and 282 for a two round total of nine-over 577.
Memphis (288-283=571) holds a three stroke lead over second-place Louisiana-Lafayette (289-285=574) and a four shot lead over third-place Campbell (292-283=575). UNC Greensboro (295-281=576) is one stroke ahead of ECU in fourth-place.
The Pirates were led by senior Harold Varner, tied for third-place with a 3-under 139 (71-68). Varner recorded four birdies and an eagle in round two to move from ninth-place into a tie for third. Senior David Watkins carded a 3-over 145 (73-72) and is tied for 20th with junior Zach Edmondson (75-71=146) one stroke behind his teammate in 23rd. Senior Adam Stephenson is tied for 26th at 4-over (76-71=147) with sophomore Ryan Eibner rounding out the Pirates' lineup at 7-over (76-73=149).
Sophomore Jackson Stuckey, playing as an individual, is tied for 12th at 2-over (72-72=144) with junior Matt Kocolowski, playing in his first tournament as a Pirate, registering a 10-over 152 (76-76).
UNCG's Robert Hoadley leads the tournament with a 5-under 137. Hoadley shot rounds of 68 and 59 to grab a one-shot lead over J.T. Poston of Western Carolina, who began the second round tied for the lead with Baillargeon.
