WILMINGTON, N.C. --- East Carolina carded rounds of 294 and 286 Sunday and sits two shots off the lead in second-place after 36 holes of the Seahawk Invitational being played at the Country Club of Landfall.
In the team chase, Wake Forest fired a two-over par (291-287-578) and carries a two shot lead over the Pirates (+4, 580), a five-shot lead over UNC Wilmington (290-293-583) and a 10-shot lead over Liberty (303-285-588) into Monday's final round. South Carolina (304-285-589) rounds out the top-five teams in the 12-team field.
ECU's David Watkins and Zach Edmondson are tied for third-place at one-under par. Watkins shot one-over 73 in the first round, but followed that up with a three-under 70 during round two. Edmondson opened the tournament by shooting par in round one and then carding a one-under 71 in round two.
Wake Forest's Charlie Harrison lead the field at three-under 141 (72-69). Ryan Sullivan of UNCW is in second place, one shot behind at two-under 142 (71-71). Four additional players are three strokes back at par 144.
ECU junior Harold Varner is tied for 14th at two-over 146 (75-71) and Jake Colley is tied for 17th at four-over 148 (74-74). Freshman Jackson Stuckey is tied for 24th at six-over 150 (73-77).
The third and final round tees off at 8:54 a.m. on Monday.
