
Reinheimer Named C-USA Hitter-of-the-Week

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina freshman Jack Reinheimer was named Conference USA Hitter-of-the-Week league officials announced Sunday afternoon. For Reinheimer it is his first career honor and ECU's fourth player-of-the-week accolade (Seth Maness/Mar. 7, Kevin Brandt/Mar.21, Zach Woods/May 16).
Reinheimer batted a team-best .583 (7-for-12) last week with a .667 on-base percentage. Currently riding an eight-game hitting streak, Reinheimer collected multi-hits in all three games against the Green Wave, going 6-for-10 with two runs scored and three walks.
In midweek action against Old Dominion he was 1-for-2 with a RBI (sac fly) and a walk. Reinheimer followed that with a 2-for-4 performance against Tulane reaching on a bunt single and lacing a base hit to left field. In the series clinching win over Tulane (ECU's first-ever) he reached base three times, going 2-for-4 and was hit by a pitch. On Saturday, Reinheimer was perfect at the plate, reaching base five times by going 2-for-2 with three walks and he also scored two runs, including the game winner in 11th inning.
On the season he is batting .333 (62-for-186) with 21 RBI's (four game-winning), scored 32 runs, four doubles and has 16 multi-hit contests in 52 games (48 starts).
Reinheimer and the Pirates (37-18) enter this week's Conference USA Championships as the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Houston (25-30) Wednesday, May 25 at 5 p.m. (EDT).
