
ECU Baseball To Hold Walk-on Tryouts

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina baseball team will hold open walk-on tryouts on Sept. 8th at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium starting at 6:30 p.m., head coach Billy Godwin announced Wednesday afternoon.
All interested students should be ready to participate in a workout and must complete a Health History Questionnaire prior to noon Sept. 5. The form can be downloaded on-line or picked up in the ECU Athletic Training Room, which is located on the first floor in Ward Sports Medicine Building. If the form is not completed and returned to Brian Cavanaugh (Baseball Office, 102 Clark-LeClair Stadium), students will not be able to participate.
Walk-on requirements:
In order to participate in walk-on tryouts you must be a currently enrolled student at East Carolina University, meet the NCAA's certification requirements and have a complete physical including sickle cell screening results PRIOR to trying out. This physical and sickle cell screening can be completed at the ECU Student Health Center or at your own doctor's office. All appointments are to be made and paid for your own. The ECU tryout process and physical forms can be views and printed out by click the Athletic Training page of ECUPirates.com. You must use this form for your physical (NO EXCEPTIONS). All paperwork must be turned into the baseball front office NO later than 12 pm on Sept. 5, 2011.
In addition, each participant must email Brian Cavanaugh the following information before noon on Sept. 5th:

- Bat/Throw
- Date of Birth
- Banner ID Number
- Cell Phone Number
- E-Mail Address
- Class Schedule
