Stephenson Earns C-USA Men's Golf Weekly Honor

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA named East Carolina University senior Adam Stephenson Co-Golfer of the Week after he earned runner-up honors at the 2011 VCU Shootout on Tuesday. This is the first time Stephenson has won the award.
Stephenson recorded the best finish as a Pirate by shooting a personal-record 206 (67-71-68). He finished the 54 holes in Manakin-Sabot, Va. one stroke behind individual medalist Scott Fernandez. Stephenson's total of 206 ranks fifth in ECU history.
The Pirates finished second overall at the VCU Shootout, seven strokes behind No. 21 Virginia. The team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 3-4) in Raleigh at the 2011 Wolfpack Intercollegiate. The Pirates finished fifth at the event last season.
