
Baseball Scrimmages Open To Public This Weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. - With just over a week away from the start of the 2012 East Carolina baseball season, assistant coach Nick Schnabel announced Thursday that the Pirates final three scrimmages of the spring will be open to the public.
The Pirates, who are coming of their fourth NCAA Regional appearance in the last six years, will play the first of three intra-squad scrimmages on Friday, Feb. 10 at 3:15 p.m. at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium, followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday (Feb. 11) and Sunday (Feb. 12).
ECU will open the season on Friday, Feb. 17 when they play host to UW Milwaukee with a 3 p.m. (ET) first pitch scheduled. The Pirates welcome back 21 lettermen, including eight pitchers and eight position starters. The Purple and Gold has 13 newcomers, eight freshmen and five juniors on its roster as well.
