
Pirates Fall To Campbell, 4-3

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's tennis team won the doubles point, but was unable to hold on as Campbell defeated the Pirates, 4-3, at River Birch Tennis Center Friday. The loss drops their record to 10-5 on the season.
John Schmitt and Patriek Wolterbeek defeated Fernando Guillen and Josep Bardo, 8-6, at the No. 2 position after Nicolas Soriano and Damien Brenard downed August Iwdal and Ondrej Kralik, 8-4, at No. 3.
Brenard claimed the first of the Pirates' two singles victories with a 6-4, 6-3 win over James Jones at No. 5. Sophomore Mario Martinez rallied from a set down at No. 6 to defeat Kralik. The Camels won each of the top four flights in straight sets.
The Pirates return to action Sunday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m. against George Washington.
