SERIES HISTORY
? This weekend's series will mark the 12th time the two teams have meet for a three-game tilt in league action ... The Pirates own a 21-10 all-time record and have won the last five weekend series ... Since May 20, 2006 when the Tigers completed a three-game sweep in Memphis, ECU has won 12 of the last 16 meetings ... In 2010, Memphis claimed the lone win between the two teams in C-USA Tournament action winning a 3-2 contest on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.

? This weekend's series will see some of the best pitcher's in Conference USA ... In the opener, ECU's Brandt leads the league in innings pitched (54.2) and pickoff's (four), while ranking fourth in ERA (1.98) and ninth in strikeouts (39) ... Memphis will counter with Langfield who shares the lead in wins (five), while ranking second in strikeouts (62) and fourth in opposing batting average (.197) ... Saturday's matchup will pit a pair of C-USA Pitcher-of-the-Week winners ... Joyner, who took home the weekly honor on April 2, has tossed consecutive complete games and ranks among the league leaders in wins (5/t1st), walks (8/3rd), ERA (2.47/8th), IP (51.0/9th), runs (15/9th), opp. BA (.225/10th) ... Moll earned NCBWA and C-USA Pitcher-of-the-Week honors this week (4/9) after tossing a complete game one-hitter against Marshall (4/7) ... The southpaw carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up an infield single to short ... In his last four starts, Moll has allowed just one earned run on 13 hits (30.2 innings), three against C-USA opponents ... Currently he ranks seventh in ERA (2.25 all games) and in league play he boasts a conference-best 0.38 ERA.
? Senior Timothy Younger took home C-USA Hitter-of-the-Week honors (4/9) after batting a team-best .500 (9-for-18) last week ... During a five-game stretch from April 3-10, he recorded multiple hits in five straight games batting .550 (11-for-20) with two doubles, two RBI and six runs ... Currently he boasts a team-best .361 average (39-for-108) with six doubles, 18 RBI and 23 runs scored.
? Sophomore Drew Reynolds saw his 11-game hit streak come to an end against ODU in midweek action ... The two-way star has recorded at hit in 21 of his last 23 games (24 of 27 this season) ... Currently he ranks second on the team with a .350 average (35-for-100) with six doubles, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored ... On the mound he picked up his third win over the year in relief against the Elon working two innings where he allowed two runs (both unearned) on three infield hits.
? Junior John Wooten has belted three home runs in C-USA action thus far and leads the squad with six round-trippers ... In the series clinching win over Houston, the Goldsboro, N.C. native was 4-or-4 with three RBI and four runs ... On the weekend he batted .462 (6-for-13) with five runs and three RBI, while slugging a team-best .692 ... On the season he is batting .325 (41-for-126) with six home runs, two doubles, 28 runs (team high) and 19 RBI.
? Redshirt sophomore Tanner Merritt tossed a career-high 6.1 innings of relief in the series finale against the Cougars (4/7) scattering five hits and striking out one ... The right-hander has tossed 11.1 consecutive scoreless innings out of the bullpen dating back to Mar. 30 against UAB ... Merritt has appeared in a team-best 16 games posting a 2-2 record with five saves, 20 strikeouts, four walks and boasts a team-best 1.69 ERA.
? Though he will be limited in action this weekend, freshman Jeff Hoffman is coming off a career outing against Elon (4/10) where he struck out a career-high 10 batters and scattered three hits over eight shutout innings ... At one point he retired 13-straight batters and faced just five over the minimum in a no decision ... On the season he is 1-0 and boasts a team-best 1.51 ERA ... Since the third inning at No. 9 N.C. State (3/28), he has tossed 19.0 scoreless frames allowing 11 hits, three walks and striking out 18 batters ... In 10 appearances he has allowed eight runs (six earned) on 22 hits with 25 strikeouts and seven walks in 35.2 innings.
? Senior Zach Wright drove in a team-best seven runs last week while batting .375 (6-for-16) with a double, home run and three runs scored ... In the series finale against Houston, he failed to reach base going 0-for-5 at the dish and halting his 18-game streak of reaching base safely ... Wright has quietly raised his average to .295 (33-for-112) on the season and ranks second behind Thompson in RBI (24) and has scored 23 runs ... In his last 15 games he has driven in 13 runs, collected 19 hits and scored 14 times.
? Heading into this weeks action, the Pirates are ranked No. 24 by Perfect Game and No. 30 by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association ... They are also receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll sitting at No. 26.
? In the latest RPI reports (Apr. 12), the Pirates have the third-best RPI in Conference USA ranking No. 20 by both the NCAA and WarrenNolan.com and No. 21 by BoydsWorld.com.
? Head Coach Billy Godwin recorded his 500th career win in the series opener against Houston on Thursday night in ECU's 10-3 victory ... For his career, Godwin owns a 502-232-1 record ... He ranks second all-time on ECU's wins list (240) and trails only ECU Hall of Famer Gary Overton (427).
