
ECU-Southern Miss Baseball Game Suspended Due To Rain

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The East Carolina (32-17-1, 13-8-1 C-USA) baseball game against Southern Miss (26-22, 10-9) at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field, Saturday, was suspended due to rain with the score tied at 2-2.
The Pirates were batting in the top of the seventh with one out and a runner standing on second base when the game went into a rain delay.
The start time of Saturday's game was moved up to 11 a.m. (EST) from its original 3 p.m. (EST) start to try and miss the rain. The two teams were able to get six-plus innings in before the game was delayed at 12:48 p.m. (EST). The two teams waited almost 2 1/2 hours before the decision was made to suspend play until Sunday morning.
The final game of the three-game series will not start any earlier than 12 noon (EST) or 40 minutes at the conclusion of the suspended game.
