East Carolina Softball Cancels Participation in Getterman Classic

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Hazardous travel conditions and subsequent flight cancellations produced by Winter Storm Pax has forced the East Carolina softball team to withdraw from its participation at this weekend's Getterman Classic in Waco, Texas.
The Pirates were scheduled to depart from Raleigh-Durham International Airport Thursday morning before being notified of the cancellation.
ECU was set to compete against UAB, Iowa, Lipscomb, Drake and tournament host Baylor during the three-day tourney, which opens Friday.
East Carolina (2-3) will return to action Feb. 21-23 when it travels to Kissimmee, Fla., where it is slated to play Albany, South Alabama, Mercer, Georgia, Delaware and Fairfield in the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic.
