ECU Softball Games Against Mercer, Georgia Postponed

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Tournament officials at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic have announced that the East Carolina softball team’s games against Mercer and No. 17 Georgia on Saturday have been postponed due to inclement weather. Make-up dates have not been announced.

Rain and lightning delayed the scheduled 1:15 p.m., start of the Pirates’ matchup against Mercer over three hours. Once the game began at 4:35 p.m., the Pirates and Bears played one scoreless inning before the game was stopped.

ECU (6-4) will be back on the diamond Sunday, Feb. 23 when it plays Delaware at 10 a.m., and Fairfield at noon on the final day of the tournament.
