
Pirates Open General Hackler Championship Play Monday

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - The East Carolina men's golf will continue its spring schedule on Monday with the opening two rounds of the General Hackler Championship at the TPC of Myrtle Beach. The tournament will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The 16-team tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday on the par-72, 6,950-yard layout.
Joining the Pirates will be five 2013 NCAA Regional teams including host Coastal Carolina along with Duke, Kent State, North Carolina and UNC Wilmington. Kent State is the highest ranked team in the field at No. 23 in the latest Golfstat ratings. East Carolina has been paired with Middle Tennessee and Northern Illinois for the first two rounds.
This will be the Pirates' third tournament of the spring season East Carolina finished fourth at the Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio two weeks ago after opening the spring campaign with a seventh-place finish at the Sea Best Invitational in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Senior Eric Brady leads ECU into the event along with Wes Conover, Al Dickens, Ryan Eibner and George Kilgore. The Pirates' collected a second-place finish during their last appearance in 2012. Eibner finished as the tournament's runner-up with a 2-over-par, while shot 17-over-par.
