ECU Wraps Up Weekend Play At Pirate Shootout

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- The East Carolina men's tennis team concluded competition at the 2014 Pirate Fall Shootout Sunday morning, wrapping up its first weekend of competition this season.
Senior Nicolas Soriano picked up a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win over UNCG's Warren Bryan during the 9 a.m. outdoor competition at River Birch Tennis Center, while Damien Brenard and Fredric Lehfeldt each dropped a three-set decision.
Over at the ECU Indoor Tennis Center, freshman Kasey Countee and junior Blake Gregory were both straight set winners. Count claimed a 7-6 (3), 7-5 victory over Stephen Goldman of James Madison and Gregory posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Coastal Carolina's Stefan Jakubov.
The Pirates will return to the courts Sept. 26-28 at the Elon Invitational.
