Pirates Complete Play at Elon Fall Invitational

ELON, N.C. --- The East Carolina University men's tennis team concluded play at the Elon Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center, posting two victories on the final day of the event.
Tendai Tapfuma and Patriek Wolterbeek captured third-place in the A2 Doubles Draw be defeating Michael Weindl and Theophile Lanthiez, 8-4. They were beaten in the semifinals by UNC Asheville's duo of John Schubel and Thomas Panoulas, 8-3.
Wolterbeek was the lone Pirate to compete in singles play, falling to Maxi Branth of James Madison is three sets (6-3, 2-6, 6-1).
Kasey Countee and Ross Nigro claimed seventh-place in the B2 Doubles Draw with an 8-4 win over Old Dominion's Darragh Glavin and Sam Perleman.
The Pirates return to action Oct. 10-12 at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem.
