
Pirates Fall To Old Dominion, 5-2

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina men's tennis sufferd a 5-2 setback to Old Dominion at the ECU Indoor Tennis Center, claiming victories at No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
Old Dominion (6-0) swept doubles play to take a 1-0 lead over ECU (2-6) before the Monarchs pushed to a 2-0 lead as Carlos Lopez Villa defeated senior Damien Brenard 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Michael Weindl scored a 7-5, 6-2 win over Tendai Tapfuma at No. 3.
ECU senior Nicolas Soriano recorded a 6-4, 6-1 win over No. 2 singles over Adam Moundir before Colin Roller posted the Pirates' second singles win over Zvonimir Podvinski at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-3.
ODU captured the match as Theopile Lanthiez defeated Fredric Lehfeldt at No. 4 singles 6-4, 5-7, 10-4 and Javier Jover Maestre outlasted ECU freshman Kasey Countee 6-1, 2-6, 6-0.
ECU returns to the courts Sunday with a doubleheader against Barton and Mount Olive. The first match begins at 11 a.m. at ECU Indoor Tennis Center.
