Keith LeClair Classic Schedule Update
February 18, 2015 | Baseball
GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina officials have announced that due to the recent ice storm in the area and the anticipated cold temperatures, the 2015 Keith LeClair Classic has been altered and NO games will be played on Friday, Feb. 20 at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium.
Officials will continue to monitor weather forecasts in the Greenville area and anticipate releasing a detailed schedule of weekend game times by Thursday afternoon.
Michigan, who was originally scheduled to appear in the LeClair Classic along with Liberty and St. John's, will not participate this year because of weather related schedule changes.
The protective netting system at Clark-LeClair stadium was damaged due to ice accumulation. Therefore, for safety purposes, ECU with the assistance of T.A. Loving Construction have brought in two cranes to stabilize the affected areas. The cranes will remain in place until after the Pirates' midweek contest against Old Dominion next Wednesday.
