
Pirates Fall At Florida Gulf Coast

FORT MYERS, Fla. --- The East Carolina men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday at the FGCU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Pirates see their record fall to 9-8 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 8-5.
Florida Gulf Coast was able to take a 1-0 lead in the match after the Eagles captured two matches in doubles play. FGCU took wins at court Nos. 2 and 3, while court No. 1 was unfinished.
Straight-set victories by the Eagles at court No. 1 quickly put the Eagles up 2-0 and a three-set victory on court No. 3 made 3-0. FGCU clinched the win at the No. 4 spot, where Tianyu Bao defeated Damien Brenard in straight sets, 6-1, 7-6 (4)to give the Eagles a 4-0 win.
The Pirates will return to action Wednesday, March 18, at home against UNCG.
