
ECU Heads To Slomin Autism Invitational In Florida

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina University men's golf team will compete at the Slomin Autism Championship this weekend, March 27-29, at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla.
The three-day tournament will be contested on the club's par-71, 6,876-yard north course. The longest of the three courses at the club, it is known for abundant water features and larger greens.
The Pirates will play its first of three 18-hole rounds on Friday and will conclude play with a final round on Sunday.
ECU heads into the tournament fresh off a second-place team finish at the 18-team Mission Inn Spring Spectacular on March 15. The Pirates have finished first, second or third in five of eight tournaments this season.
George Kilgore finished in sixth-place at Mission Inn Spring Spectacular after shooting a three-round score of 216 (71-69-76) to finish in the top-10 for the second time this season. Wes Conover placed 10th at the tournament with a three-day total of 219 (74-72-73). Conover enters this weekend's tournament with five top-5 finishes.
Joining the aforementioned duo this weekend will be Al Dickens, Jacob Hicks and Nick Thompson. Dickens owns two top-10 finishes this season.
The 20-team field will consist of Arkansas State, Bethune-Cookman, Connecticut, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Hartford, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee State, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Illinois, Rhode Island, St. John's, Stetson, UCF and Xavier.
