
Pirates Drop Final Road Match Of The Year At Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The East Carolina University men's tennis team fell to the Campbell Camels, 4-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the Nisbett Tennis Center in its final road match of the season.
With the loss, ECU falls to 10-11 overall on the season with two matches remaining. The Pirates return to action on April 4 at 10:30 a.m. ET against the UConn Huskies at the River Birch Tennis Center in Greenville before they wrap up regular season play on Saturday, April 11 against Elon.
East Carolina captured the doubles point for the third consecutive match, winning on courts two and three to secure the points. Collin Roller and Kasey Countee claimed a 6-3 victory over Lukas Shaefer and Jonathan O'Neal on court two, while Nicolas Soriano and Damien Brenard posted a 6-4 win over Steve Billington and Landon Rogers on court three.
Campbell then posted four singles wins to capture the win. ECU junior Tendai Tapfuma rallied for force a decisive third set, but was shut out in the final frame by Shaefer on court two. Roller posted a 6-3 opening set win over Adrien Rossingnon on court four, but dropped the next two sets, 6-1, 6-4. Brenard and Countee were each beaten in straight sets on courts three and five.
