
Wes Conover Named To PING All-Region Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. --- East Carolina junior Wes Conover was named to the Division I PING All-East Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) over the weekend. A total of 155 players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2015.
Conover is the fifth Pirate golfer to receive PING All-Region honors since 2011, joining Harold Varner (2011, '12), David Watkins (2011), Adam Stephenson (2012) and Eric Brady (2014).
ECU concluded the 2014-15 season with a ninth-place finish at the 2015 NCAA Noblesville Regional in Indiana after receiving its third at-large bid to the NCAA Championship in the past five years. Conover tied for 11th at par-216 (75-72-69).
Conover, a member of The American all-conference team, concluded the season with a team-best 72.23 stroke average to go along with six top-10 finishes, three top-5 finishes and 18 rounds of even-par or better golf. The Holly Springs, N.C., native finished the year with the fifth-lowest single-season stroke average and second-most top-10 finishes in school history.
