Pirate Club Launches New Digital Magazine

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina Senior Associate Athletics Director and Pirate Club Executive Director J. Batt has announced the arrival of the first edition of Pirate Club: The Magazine, the new official digital magazine of ECU Athletics and the Pirate Club. The first issue is available Friday, Jan. 29.
"Pirate Club: The Magazine will provide us an opportunity to effectively tell the story of our over 450 student-athletes in an interactive way," Batt said. "The digital magazine will connect our members to our student-athletes, coaches and teams through visual elements combined with features."
The new digital magazine is available free of charge through the App Store and Google Play store. All members of Pirate Nation can access the magazine on an Apple or Android device by searching "Pirate Club Magazine" in either respective store. Once the app is downloaded, each issue will be automatically delivered monthly throughout the academic year.
The new magazine, which replaces the former Pirates' Chest, provides an inside look at ECU Athletics through an interactive app packed with pictures, infographics, and features on ECU outstanding student-athletes, coaches and teams.
The first edition features an exclusive interview with new head football coach Scottie Montgomery titled "Taking the Helm", as he discusses his philosophy and role in leading Pirate football. In addition, an introduction of the new coaching staff and a breakdown of the Pirate football coaching tree.
Further, the edition includes features on men's basketball, women's basketball student-athlete Jada Payne and men's swimming student-athlete Fran Krznaric, as well as baseball and softball previews for the upcoming season.
