An Update From AD Jon Gilbert - East Carolina University Athletics

Pirate Nation:

There is something special about a fall Saturday in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, and this weekend we get to add a little Halloween fun to the tradition. We host Temple this Saturday, October 31, at 3 p.m., and I hope you will make plans to spend the day with us.

We are grateful for the energy and support you bring to our football program. As we celebrate Fan Appreciation, we have a full afternoon planned for you and your family, with Halloween activities, live music and special offers throughout the day.

Bring Your Family and Friends
Football season ticket holders and students can purchase additional tickets for just $10.31. It is a great opportunity to bring a few extra friends and introduce someone new to a Saturday with the Pirates. Call the ECU Athletics Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500 to purchase.

Celebrate Halloween with the Pirates
Wear your costumes and arrive early! Pirate Walk begins at 12:45 p.m., with our football team and cheerleaders sharing candy along the route. Kids in costume can meet PeeDee at the Howard & Lyn Swain Promenade, across from the baseball hitting facility, to join the costume parade following the team.

After Pirate Walk, visit Taft Family Plaza beginning at 1 p.m. for trick-or-treating with our student-athletes. Next, head inside the stadium to Charley's Kids Zone near Hall Family Gate 4 at 2 p.m. for the kids' costume contest and a chance to win prizes.

The pregame celebration also includes The Embers featuring Craig Woolard performing at Tailgate Plaza beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Enjoy Fan Appreciation Specials
While you enjoy the atmosphere at Tailgate Plaza, take advantage of $2 select beers and $1 hot dogs.

During the game, Pepsi fountain drinks and hot dogs will be 50% off at all Classic Concession Stands inside the stadium.

Our student-athletes look forward to seeing you in the stands, and your presence makes a difference. Bring your family, wear your favorite costume and help us make this Halloween a memorable day in Pirate Nation.

Make It a Full Pirate Weekend
Keep the Pirate spirit going Sunday! Our volleyball team is having a strong season, entering the weekend with a 15-7 overall record and an 8-2 mark in conference play. Join us November 1 at 1 p.m. in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum as the Pirates host South Florida for their Salute to Service match. Let's give our student-athletes a great home crowd and make it a full weekend of Purple & Gold.

Thank you for continuing to support the Pirates. I look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Go Pirates!
