East Carolina looks to remain unbeaten at home this season as it host two-time MEAC champion Hampton inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum Tuesday night.
The Pirates are 4-0 at home and have won 16 consecutive non-conference games, which includes five victories over MEAC opponents. ECU has posted 14 straight wins over MEAC opponents dating back to 2006.
Saturday, ECU defeated Air Force to capture third-place at the Savannah Invitational. B.J. Tyson scored a game-high 18 points and Caleb White added 15. Tyson averaged 16.5 points over weekend in the two games against Air Force and Mercer and was named to the all-tournament team.
Hampton has lost four in a row and is winless against Division I opponents. HU got its only win of the season in overtime against Division II foe Chowan, 70-69.
Jermaine Marrow is the only player on Hampton's roster to average double figures scoring with 13.7 points per game.
White leads a trio of Pirates in double figure scoring with 16.0 ppg followed by Tyson with 14.4 ppg. Sophomore Kentrell Barkley, who was named to this week's American Athletic Conference Honor Roll, is posting 13.6 points per game.

- East Carolina returns home to Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at face 2016 MEAC tournament champion and NCAA Tournament participant Hampton at 7 p.m. It'll be just the second meeting between the Pirates and first since Dec. 23, 2003. ECU won that game by a final score of 77-53.
- Hampton represents ECU's third MEAC opponent of the season and fourth HBCU foe. East Carolina has won 14 consecutive games against current members of the MEAC with their last lost coming at Morgan State on Dec. 18, 2006. The Pirates' next opponent, N.C. Central, is also a member of the MEAC.
- East Carolina will be shooting for its 17th consecutive non-conference home victory Tuesday. The Pirates are 4-0 at home this season against non-conference opponents after going 7-0 inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum prior to American Athletic Conference play a year ago.
- Sophomore Kentrell Barkley was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in his career Monday. Barkley averaged 16.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game as East Carolina went 2-1 last week. Barkley recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds against Mercer, his second straight game scoring 20 or more points.ECU is coming a 70-63 victory over Air Force Sunday to claim third-place in the Savannah Invitational. B.J. Tyson, who was named to the all-tournament team, led the Pirates with 18 points and Caleb White added 15.
- Graduate transfer Andre Washington brought his season blocked shots total 16 over the weekend in Savannah. Washington has more blocks in the first seven games than the Pirates' 2015-16 season leader Michel Nzege had in 29 games, 12.
- Barkley and Washington have each led ECU in rebounding four times in the last five games. They tied for the team-high with eight each against Charlotte, Florida A&M and Air Force. Washington grabbed a game-high 16 against Stetson, while Barkley hauled in 11 versus Mercer.
- White is the only senior in The American to rank among the top-10 in the league in scoring. He ranks 10th with 16.0 points per game. White also finds himself 21st in the NCAA with 3.5 3s per game with a 52.5 3-point shooting percentage, 25th-best in Division I.
- ECU ranks among the top-four in The American in four defensive categories: scoring defense (4th/61.3), field goal percent defense (2nd/.350), 3-point field goal percent defense (3rd/.298) and blocked shots per game (3rd/5.7).
- UPCOMING MILESTONES:Â B.J. Tyson is 18 points shy of becoming the 28th player in school history with 1,000 career points ... Caleb White needs four points to become the seventh player in program history to score 1,300 points.
