
Pirate Men's Tennis Cruise Past Flagler, 5-0

SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The East Carolina men's tennis team won its second road match in as many days, defeating Flagler College, 5-0, on Monday afternoon.
The Pirates wasted little time setting the tone, as James Ling and Tendai Tapfuma eased their way to a 6-1 victory as the No. 1 doubles team, before Ronny Georgi and Kasey Countee clinched the first point of the overall match with a 6-2 win on court three.
Holding the 1-0 advantage, freshman Will Bissett was the first singles player off his court with a 6-1, 6-1 decision out of the No. 6 spot in the lineup, before Fredric Lehfeldt closed out his opponent, 6-1, 6-2, in the No. 4 slot. Countee won 6-4, 6-1 on court three for his sixth-straight victory, while Georgi finished off his opposition on court five, 6-0, 6-4, to seal the 5-0 win.
Georgi improves to 16-7 overall and 9-3 in dual matches, as both win totals rank first on the team.
East Carolina (8-4) returns to action Thursday, March 10 when it heads to Orlando, Fla., to take on conference foe UCF. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
